With two huge championship matches on the card featuring two of the very best stars in MMA today, you can’t afford to miss this one.

That’s right, UFC 112: Invincible will feature two of the best the sport of MMA has to offer as UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn defend their respective championship belts this Saturday in Abu Dhabi.

It doesn’t get any better than that and when it comes to who is the best pound for pound fighter in the UFC is concerned, nobody, AB-SO-LUTE-LY nobody, can compare to ”The Spider” Anderson Silva.

The Brazilian jiu jitsu specialist will defend his UFC middleweight title against Demian Maia in what should be one fantastic showdown. Silva has been plowing down on all comers for years. Can Maia be that one guy who can finally put an end to Silva’s reign as the king of the octagon?

Other matches to watch out for and of course, bet on, is the UFC lightweight championship match between the champion BJ Penn and his challenger, Frankie Edgar. This could be Penn’s last match as the UFC lightweight champion as he is heavily rumored to making a move to the welterweight division to have another crack at the title.

Barboza is definitely some kind of ringer, as he wades in and clips Barakat with a right and follows him down with some hellacious leather. Barakat is so messed up, he’s trying to work his guard even after the ref has pulled Barboza off, and Kevin Mulhall has to hold his ankles while Dr. Wulkan struggles to get him to snap out of it. The official time of the KO is 1:09 of the first round. It’s time for Brazil vs. Brazil, with Vagner Fernandes of Gold Team taking on Andre Gusmao of Ricardo Almeida’s School for Gifted Grapplers. As an aside, Gusmao is also a skilled capoeira practitioner, which enabled him to dominate when he fought in the IFL but availed him naught in his time in the UFC. It doesn’t avail him much here, either, as Fernandes rocks him with a right and proceeds to use his face as a punching bag. Yet Gusmao is tough, and he gains dominate position on the ground, flattens Fernandes out, and drops the hammer until the ref steps in at 3:25 of Round 1.

G’day mate! Seems the UFC has ventured on down unda for their latest installment, and it looks to be a decent night of walloping for convicts and Americans alike. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Cain Velasquez get to pretend that Brock Lesnar gives a crap about defending his belt, while the once-feared Wanderlei Silva and the once-relevant Michael Bisping get another shot at salvaging their waning career. So put another shrimp on the barbie, ’cause here are some predictions!

• Mirko CroCop gets another shot in the Octagon, and as it’s not on US soil (and under the watchful eye of an athletic commission with a post-fight drug test requirement), he actually stands a chance at winning.
• I bet Ben Rothwell thinks back on those days when he dominated in the IFL and gets all wistful and teary.
• Keith Jardine’s still alive? Ryan Bader via ground and pound.
• George Sotiropoulos may be a local, but Joe Stevenson will likely be the crowd favorite an account of him looking very much like a koala bear.
• Bisping is young and despised. Silva is old and beloved. Ultimately, that means that the person everyone doesn’t want to win will win.
• Velasquez is young and moderately liked. Nogueira is Nogueira, and he is going to kill him.

Bettors take a trip inside the Octagon before they wet their pants watching the Super Bowl this Sunday.

And in case you didn’t get that, businessman extraordinaire and UFC President Dana White managed to squeeze his little UFC pay per view event right before Super Bowl XLIV.

You read it, before we get to see the Colts and the Saints play for the championship in Miami, Randy Couture and Mark Coleman, two Hall of Famers inside the Octagon, will headline UFC 109: Relentless as both try to make their way back to the title picture in the heavyweight division.

UFC 109 on Saturday, February 6 has 11 bouts on the card including the headliner that includes Randy Couture and Mark Coleman. There are five fights on the pay-per-view portion of the card and six preliminary bouts, two of which will be televised on Spike TV.

UFC 109 has a lot of big UFC odds favorites and that is somewhat unusual. Randy Couture is listed as -450 in UFC odds at SBG Global for his bout against Mark Coleman.

Not many people are giving Mark Coleman much of a chance. These two fighters were supposed to meet almost 12 years ago in UFC 17 but Couture was injured and pulled out. The Ultimate Fighting Championship organization informed that a long anticipated match up between former light heavyweight champions Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rashad Evans, originally scheduled for the UFC 113,  has been moved to the UFC 114.

Jackson (30-7) retired from the UFC in 2009 after having a series of contractual problems with the fighting league. A few weeks later, Jackson informed that he will return to the UFC to finish his contract and that he wanted to fight Rashad Evans. The two TUF 10 team coaches were scheduled to meet at UFC 107 in Memphis, Tennessee, but Jackson’s role in “The A-Team” movie forced the fighter to cancel the matchup. The bout was re scheduled for UFC 113, and now is expected to co headline the UFC 114 on May 29, 2010 in Las Vegas.

The former 205-pound Champion will return to the Octagon after more than a year of inactivity, wining his last fight against Keith Jardine at the UFC 96 in March, 2009. Evans (14-1-1) rebounded from a loss against undefeated Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida at UFC 98 with a unanimous decision win over Thiago Silva at UFC 108. UFC 114 airs live on pay-per-view from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and will coincide with the second annual UFC Fan Expo.

In other news, UFC president Dana White has confirmed that UFC 113 scheduled on May 1st, 2010 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, has been moved to the following week due to the Mayweather vs. Mosley fight. The main event will feature a rematch from UFC 104 between Lyoto Machida and Shogun Rua. Other bouts currently under works for this event include Kimbo Slice vs. Matt Mitrione, Jonathan Goulet vs. Marcus Davis and TJ Grant vs. Johny Hendricks.
